COURSE DESCRIPTION

The entirety of this section runs along Hwy 2 – a total of 4.6 miles, climbing 770’ and descending 420’. Leaving Eagles Roost, runners travel on the North side of the road (with traffic) until they reach the Cloudburst aid station. Please run on the right side of the road, which will be marked with yellow ribbons. Runners may notice that certain parts of this section feel hotter, as additional solar radiation is reflected off the light-colored rock and canyon walls block air movement. Nearing the Cloudburst Aid Station at mile 33, 7,020’, a cooler breeze usually provides a bit of relief.

From the Cloudburst Summit CP Team (and the Radio Team who are not pictured)... Congratulations to everyone who toed the line in WW! Whether you reached the Finish Line or not, you did something that almost no one else would even consider! And to the Finishers, even more congratulations - wear your buckles with Pride and Joy! I have to give a special shout to our four Team Members who were among the Finishers - Chris, Raquel, Ryan and Kristin! Well done, Bastards! We were proud to be a small part of a very big race. Looking forward to 2019! Consensus from the team was Pirate Theme... think Carbo Pro, Water or Grog as the hydration options! Special thanks to Ken Hamada for entrusting us with such an important responsibility as a CP. And to Gary for, well, for just being Gary!
