Avalon 50M/50k Race Day Information

BIB assignments, on this site, are temporary for testing. BIBs will be updated after checking closes Friday evening
Friday 3:30-7pm - Packet pickup at the Hotel Metropole conference room (to the rear)
Friday 6pm - Course description and talk in the conference room.
Runner name list will be added to this website after packet pickup closes
Saturday - Race Day

There will be no timing at the Pumphouse aid station
There will be no timing at the junction of Middle Ranch Road and Airport Road
There will be RFID at the Airport, Two Harbors (aka Isthmus) and Middle Ranch (1 mile past the Eagles Nest aid station).
Little Harbor and Little Harbor Overook are doing manual timing data entry (no RFID)
Eagle's Nest aid station is un-changed but the timing station is moved about 1 mile later at Middle Ranch (for WiFi access)

BIBs 1-500 are 50 mile. BIBs 501+ are 50k
Start/Finish at the fountain/Wrigley Stage - Sumner Ave & Crescent Ave
Early, late or unofficial Starts - Check-in giving your BIB number and planned start time to the timers
4AM - Official 50 Mile early start - Cross the RFID scanner mat. This start is for 50 milers that believe they need an extra hour to finish before 5pm. Any start other than 4am and 5am (for 50 milers) and 6am (for 50k runners), or switching distances after the start, disqualifies for overall and age group awards but may count for finishing. Early aid stations may not be open.
5AM - Official 50 Mile start - cross the RFID scanner mat
6AM - Official 50k start - cross the RFID scanner mat
Official cutoffs - In order to make the cutoffs, 50 Mile runners starting at 4am need to average a 15.6 min/mile pace. 5am starters, 14.4 min/mile and leave Little Harbor 2 before 1:00pm. 50k runners starting at 6am need to average a 20 min/mile pace.
