Runners head south with a view of <strong data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"451\">Wright Mountain<\/strong> (home of the landslide), then quickly shift focus westward toward the <strong data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"547\">8,400-foot Blue Ridge<\/strong>, which they\u2019ll soon climb and traverse en route to <strong data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"620\">Inspiration Point<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"638\">From the start:<\/p><ul data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"865\"><li data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"688\"><p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"688\">Turn <strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"667\">right on Park Dr.<\/strong> and climb two blocks<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"689\" data-end=\"746\"><p data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"746\">Turn <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"719\">right on Apple Ave.<\/strong> and continue for 0.3 miles<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"865\"><p data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"865\">Turn <strong data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"775\">left on Acorn Dr.<\/strong>, and continue uphill past <strong data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"824\">private road signs<\/strong> until the pavement ends at <strong data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"865\">1.4 miles<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"1061\">The pavement transitions into a <strong data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"917\">dirt fire road<\/strong>, which climbs for 0.3 miles to a <strong data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"979\">signpost for Acorn Trail<\/strong>. Runners turn <strong data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1035\">left onto the Acorn Trail singletrack<\/strong> and begin the main climb.<\/p><p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1311\">The <strong data-start=\"1067\" data-end=\"1082\">Bridge Fire<\/strong> burned lightly on the lower half of the Acorn Trail but severely on the upper half. The trail crew has filled in most of the <strong data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1227\">root ball holes<\/strong>, but <strong data-start=\"1233\" data-end=\"1252\">watch your step<\/strong>, especially on the descent \u2014 which may happen in the dark.<\/p><p data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1480\">At <strong data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1329\">3.4 miles<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1356\">2,200 feet of gain<\/strong>, runners reach the <strong data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1399\">Pacific Crest Trail<\/strong> and turn <strong data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1418\">right<\/strong>, heading northbound (toward Canada!) for the next 22.5 miles.<\/p><p data-start=\"1482\" data-end=\"1767\">The top of Acorn burned to a <strong data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1524\">moonscape<\/strong> in places, and the trail may be <strong data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1575\">hard to follow<\/strong> \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1598\">look for markers<\/strong> and stay alert. <strong data-start=\"1615\" data-end=\"1641\">Purple poodle-dog bush<\/strong> is also starting to grow again near the summit. (Your Wrightwood Assistant RDs are personally committed to fighting it back.)<\/p><p data-start=\"1769\" data-end=\"2050\">Runners roll past <strong data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1807\">Guffy Campground<\/strong> (mile 4.5) and reach the section high point of <strong data-start=\"1855\" data-end=\"1869\">8,480 feet<\/strong> at mile <strong data-start=\"1878\" data-end=\"1885\">5.7<\/strong>. The trail winds westward along <strong data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"1932\">Blue Ridge<\/strong>, offering a <strong data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"1963\">golden sunrise<\/strong> and panoramic views of the <strong data-start=\"1991\" data-end=\"2012\">Los Angeles Basin<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2031\">Mojave Desert<\/strong>, and nearby peaks:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2190\"><li data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2107\"><p data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2107\"><strong data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2070\">Pine Mountain<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2094\">Mt.
